To summarize things about the new wall construction….

The idea began in 1997-1998 where Israeli planned to build a system like Eretz checkpoint in Gaza, but this time at Gilo checkpoint between Bethlehem and Jerusalem. The plan is to encircle Jerusalem by a wall that have 7 doors, each door shall be controlled by a checkpoint similar to Eretz, so the first one in our side would be the Gilo checkpoint, and next jabal Abughneim (Har Homa new colony) by Beit Sahour, and a third at the east from Sawahra – Wadi ennar, the alternative road palestiniens take to go around Jerusalem because of lack of permits to pass through Jerusalem and so on.

A new talk began, about the year 2000, to make build a wall around Jenin and Tulkarem, of about 60 km length and 6 meters high, above which shall be put electrified barbwires and video cameras for surveillance, with gates similar to those around Jerusalem.

Last week, Sharon gave orders to begin immediately the constructions of the wall, which has really began  around 2 months ago around the camp (about 300 meters from the camp from Gilo colony side). Now, they are 15-20 meters far from the houses of the camp.

Israeli bulldozers accompanied by Israeli offensive army are digging in the lands of the Armenian church at the northern side of Aida Camp, exploiting the incomprehensible international silence of the governments of the sleeping world.

This wall is going to begin from the Tunnel side between Beit Jala and Gilo colony, passing in the lands of Beit Jala, going around Aida till the Gilo checkpoint, passing by to Abughneim new colony as the first stage for construction. Some palestinien families are now behind the wall….

So it is clear now that occupation plans are continuing to make the life of palestinians more intolerable and more difficult…
