Sari Nusseibeh in the Balance

It is really great to hear that a big figure like Dr. Sari Nusseibeh, President of the University of Jerusalem, the appointed head of the PLO's Jerusalem portfolio, continues to sell the Palestinian rights on the public markets without any decency. Whether it is to please his American parents in law, or his Israeli brothers in law, we do not care. This president of the Jerusalem university, who lead his university to a disaster after disaster, with employees not paid for more than 8 months yet, a complete academic failure, what does he wants?

He permits himself to make initiatives in the name of people who are under siege, humiliated from the day of their birth until now, the refugees. He, who is not himself a refugee, permits himself to sell their rights, in exchange of What?

A peace for Israel? Good Palestinian intentions?

What about good Israeli intentions?

What would his partner Ami Ayalon give in return?

Would he dismantle all the settlements on the palestinian lands? Would he remove all these occupation soldiers from our camps, villages and cities, from our injuries and tortured spirits and make them get lost out of our sights?

Would he allow no more confiscation of our lands? No more checkpoints at every corner on our roads?

And if he could, in what quality?

Is he appointed by his government, as a man of miracles with the magic stick: let it be and it shall be?

It is really the last of jokes to see a Palestinian who can’t even reach his university, selling our rights, which are granted by all the international laws without any contestation whatever, and he wants us to give these rights for the peace of Israel. In exchange of a handicapped Palestinian state, that no Real Palestinian would want. Why do you do that, Dr. Nusseibeh?

Why should it be us who should make a sale after sale, good intentions after good intentions, continue negotiation after negotiation while every infrastructure in our country is demolished, every image we tried to build is shattered, every dream we dreamt about is miss-shaped, every resistance we made against the occupation is terrorism, every hope and prayer lead to confusion?

Did Israel ever respected any of the international laws, and UN resolutions, so that we could trust it and say, let’s have another sale and good intention?

In a time where your president, Dr. Sari was encircled like a lion in a cage, where your flag, Dr. Sari, was removed and replaced by an Israeli flag over the building which symbolizes all the power of your Palestinian authority, if you still consider yourself as palestinian, you permit yourself to make such an initiative? Was it you who wrote it, or some secretary in Israel, sent it to you by fax, ordering you to circulate it, and feel the palpitations of agonizing Palestinian hearts?

It is really a shame that you were chosen by this palestinian authority, to which you have not the slightest respect, to be its’ representative for Jerusalem. What is left to be sold, Sari?

Are you negotiating next our transfer? Our Aqsa and Sakhra? Our Quds and its holiness?

An open city for all? How could I reach from Nablus, from Hebron or Bethlehem or even Abudeiss? By helicopters maybe?

Not in my name you will sell my rights. Not in my children’s name, or my parents or family name you will sell our rights. Not in any Palestinian and Palestinian refugee name you will sell these rights. If you want to sell, then sell your own possessions, sell your house if it is not yet sold… other things are I figure, have been sold long time ago.

Spare us the time that we consume to read your garbage… Let us keep our dignity so that we don’t spit on your propositions. Go home and sleep well. Your place is not here… You don’t belong here….
