Aida Camp Update/mis à jour Jan 11, 2003

It was a nice, sunny, calm day… a nice day to be buried in the ground for Tarek Abu Jado, a 17 years old boy who was killed yesterday by an stray explosive bullet which made a hole of 3 cm of diameter in his abdomen, and passed its way through his body to disappear after an extremely short visit leaving behind a hole of about 5 cm large in the back…

It wasn’t frequent until now to see such artistic expressions of the passage of errant bullets escaping from the M16s of innocent Israeli soldiers who were playing the hiding and find game with the Palestinian children alias stone throwers… It is clear that these children do not know how to use a better technology, but well, we are talking after all about Palestinians in a refugee camp… the barbaric kind of creatures that resemble, from far, us, the humans… Sorry, I mean you humans… I seem to forget myself… I was born in this camp…

Anyway, the game started as follows:

The new wall construction, as certain among you know has begun in early April 2002 around Aida, and North of Bethlehem region. It is still in the state of barbwires by here, and a new road is under constructions to take the religious Israeli Jews in a road made special for them only to arrive to Rachel Tomb (originally a mosque, which was transformed into a Synagogue after the Israeli occupation in 1967). This new parasite road of course is made on palestinian lands, confiscated for security purposes of course… The Palestinians have to show a good will for peace, so they should accept everything that Israel and its magnificent government and humane army do, because they know what they do, and the Palestinians do not know… How could they know anyway? Idiots and simple as they are (the Palestinians I mean)?… So these children were throwing stones on the bulldozers which were devouring the Palestinian lands and working to ease the suffering of Israelis and make them a safer passage on the palestinian lands…

Some units of the army are hiding in the fields of the Armenian church lands on the north of the camp. They inundated the camp with tear gas… The children ran away, went up the hell towards the Franciscan sisters convent where Israeli jeeps were circulating on the road where the barbwires were built… Other soldiers came from behind the convent, from the southern and started shooting at them… The army jeeps and soldiers came from the northern side in the Armenian church lands as well… The children ran into the camp, to the East… The shooting continued, and the soldiers then withdrew from where they came… The jeeps moved to the west to go behind the sisters convent to take the soldiers who turned around from he southern side… The jeeps came rapidly, and posted the soldiers in the Armenians land, where they remained hiding waiting to continue there innocent games… What a tactic?

The children feeling again that of course the soldiers are inviting them to continue the game ran in the street towards them, but without seeing them, because they thought that the jeep didn’t pass yet, and that they will be able to mark some points with their surprising stones… But, a big surprise was waiting for them… As soon as they started to through stones in the air, even without seeing the soldiers who were hiding behind the wall, the bullets couldn’t resist this invitation to join the bodies of these stone throwers… Tarek Abu Jado, the 17 years old boy, who was wandering in the streets of the camp few minutes ago, wanders no more… His body fell like a leaf in the autumn… No ambulance to take him, to continue the death game in the hospital… No time to say goodbye to his mother or father or his seven brothers and sisters… No time to see how his fellows who received other gifts were feeling… How the foot of the 13 years old Saddam Daher, and the leg of the 14 years old Mohammad El Azza… The cries of joy, or pain, no one is sure yet, where mixed with the cries of the audience admiring the performance of the players from each side of the wall… The soldiers thought it was time to leave the game, because after all, these Palestinian children can’t play for long time and the Israeli soldiers have no patience to play under the same rules every time… As real players, they change tactics and rules of the game every day…

Of course they have no orders at all to shoot children… No orders at all to shoot to kill… No orders at all to humiliate, torture, gamble with the bodies of the palestinians… No orders at all to behave in mercenaries… No orders at all to behave in professionals, because after all, they have no real army in front of them… So they just play the game… And when there is no fixed rules for the games, then everything can happen…

All of you are welcome to share with us games under occupation…

All of you are welcome for a new adventure, a new murder, a new challenge….

Till then, take care and you might think of what you can do to : end these games or make them even better…
