GOAL
The main objective
of this project is to develop the cultural and theatre training
center in the camp and equip it with all the equipment and instruments
needed to allow it to function independently, so that it would
not continuously depend on donations, which will permit it to
help children to overcome and manage the recent stress and violence
imposed on them and encourage self-expression through peaceful
means (Drama and Art) in a secure and healthy environment, where
they could also use the library and the computers. The long term
objective is to establish a complete and permenant Cultural and
Theatre Training Center in the camp, equiped with light video
and sound systems and a movable stage inorder to perform plays
in the region and all over the country, a library to encourage
reading and research for knowledge, a computer training centerand
internet to connect children with other children of their age
all over the world, as well as art workshops (painting, drawing
and mosaic).
OBJECTIVES
The project
aims to:

a fully equiped cultural and theatre training center for children
(boys and girls), age 6-18 years old, and the neighbouring region.
2. Initiate the children to the art of theatre and drama, and
train them on acting and prepare plays which reflect their situation
and their rights and other subjects of interst for their age,
so that they benefit of this as a means of self-expression and
creation to widen their horizons, since most of the children,
if not all, have never been in a theatre
3. Helping the children to deflect their stress and discharge
their anxiety through free self-expression and peaceful means
using drama, art and reading.
4. Create a theatre group where children are the main actors.
5. As a cultural center, mainly for children, help children
in the camp and the neighbouring region to make use of their
time with something positive that shall develop their creativity
and the spirit of belonging to a team, to a family and to a
country.
6. Encouraging the participation of disabled children and promote
positive attitudes towards them amongst their peers in the community
for a positive mainstreaming in the socio-economic life in the
camp and surrounding localities through art, computer and library
activities.
7. Distracting children from the heavy atmosphere of war and
violence surrounding them and engage them in peaceful activities.
